• Management Team is invited for lunch and a Question & Answer session.

Study Assistance
Brightpoint has a Study Support Program available to permanent full time and part time employees.  Study support may be to undertake formal courses of study at tertiary and higher education institutions and other vocational education courses by providing access to study leave during normal hours of duty.

In general, support will be given to employees who wish to undertake:

• Studies to obtain entry into a tertiary institution, a first degree, diploma, associate diploma or any other tertiary qualification that is considered directly relevant to Brightpoint; or
• Second and subsequent qualifications that are considered directly relevant to the employee’s work at Brightpoint.

If study support is granted, Brightpoint will pay 50% of the course cost upon completion and passing the necessary exam/s.  The remaining 50% will be paid after the employee completes two years of continuous service after completion of the course.  The company grants two days study leave per annum.

Promotion and Transfer
Brightpoint is dedicated to encouraging promotions and transfers within the company.  The Human Resources department will advertise positions internally before they are externally advertised.

Effective Supervision / People Management Training
This HR initiative aims to equip Line Managers and Team Leaders with the skills to successfully undertake people management issues.  Personnel who are promoted from within the business to a Managers, Supervisors and Team Leader status embark on an external Management Training Course to ensure they are given every opportunity to succeed in their new role.

The Employee Referral Program
This program encourages employees to refer external applicants for positions available at Brightpoint.  If an employee’s referred applicant is successful, the employee will receive a financial bonus of $250.00 for casual position and $1,000.00 for permanent position.

Dress Code
Business dress is expected for employees who work in the public eye.  For those who are not dealing directly with customers, Brightpoint supports a “Business Casual” dress code throughout the working week.

Casual Friday
Here at Brightpoint we love casual Fridays.  This allows our employees to wear jeans to end their working week.

High Achievers Program
The purpose of this program is to encourage a positive “can do” approach to the workplace and a sense of high achievement.  It is designed to formally recognise the valuable contributions of those who “go the extra mile” to provide outstanding service to their colleagues and Brightpoint’s customers.

The winner each month is recognized with a $250 gift certificate from Red Balloon Days allowing them to choose an indulgence or experience of their choice. There are hundreds of options available all over New Zealand to suit all ages, personalities and interests.

The person who nominates the winning High Achiever of the Month receives a Westfield gift voucher.

Service Awards
Brightpoint recognises employee loyalty with service awards offered for employees that have completed 12 months or more continuous service.  Employees will be presented with a Certificate of Service and voucher/gift. These items of recognition are usually presented at the quarterly communication sessions.

Car Parking
Onsite parking is available to all staff.

Staff Purchases
Employees of Brightpoint who have 3 months of continuous service are eligible to purchase products (mobile phones and accessories ) at a discounted rate.

Employee Assistance Program
All Brightpoint New Zealand employees and their immediate families, now have access to a free counselling service called the Employee Assistance Program. This employer funded service is provided to assist employees dealing with personal, family and/ or work issues that affect their quality of life. Qualified external counsellors will help identify a problem and help find a way to resolve it. All contact with this program is confidential and is not disclosed to the employer.

Lunch n Learn
Human Resources are responsible for assisting our employees to achieve a work/life balance. This can be difficult given today’s busy working environment.

We have launched June 2008 a Lunch n Learn program. The program is designed to offer information about external opportunities that may enhance our employees’ lifestyle away from work. As it is often tricky to co-ordinate external hobbies and interests outside the workplace, particularly if employees have families and other personal responsibilities outside of work, HR hosts a lunchtime seminar every quarter. A guest speaker is invited to come along and inform participants in the program about their area of interest.

Lunch is served to all participants afterwards, where employees have the chance to meet with the guest speaker and ask their own questions.

Lunch n Learn simply offers Brightpoint employees a chance to take a break from the daily grind and enjoy something completely different in the work place.
Health
Brightpoint New Zealand has organised for a health insurance provider to offer competitive health insurance with the convenience of payroll deductions. A dedicated representative is available to discuss the best package for your lifestyle and family.

To encourage a healthy work environment, Brightpoint has fruit baskets delivered at the end of each month for staff to enjoy a healthy treat throughout the day.
