In-Bound Logistics

Before goods and products make it into the logistics and distribution chain, effective and secure transport into the country and to the warehouse needs to be in place. Since timelines from supplier shipments to distribution are often tight and critical, management and planning of in-bound shipments is essential.

1.  Procurement Coordination

In order to minimize delays for in-bound shipments, Brightpoint India can coordinate directly with suppliers to arrange with shipping, documentation and data management. This is especially recommended in case of goods that are to be kitted in Brightpoint India facilities.

2.  Freight Forwarder & Customs Clearing Management

In order for Brightpoint India to plan and control receipt of products, it is required for Brightpoint India to receive copies, in advance, of purchase orders raised by network operator and advance shipping notices. In this way, Brightpoint India can control what it receives and make sure that it is correct.

3.  Receipts Handling

Once goods are received at Brightpoint India facilities, Brightpoint India staff will issue arrival notifications to relevant parties. Goods will be securely unloaded at the Brightpoint India facilities to ensure that no damage is done to shipments. Brightpoint India will manage the shipping documentation (packing list, supplier invoice, AWB, purchase order, etc.), and sign off on delivery orders. Brightpoint India can also handle the regular three-way matching principal, both incoming and outgoing, if required.

4.  Incoming Data Management

All serialized items will be received against input data files as supplied by vendors (SIM manufactures, recharge card manufacturers, device manufacturers). This enables serial numbers for IMEIs, kit codes or recharge codes will be loaded into the system prior to receiving stock, in order to match received serials against order information and to ensure full serial reconciliation.

5.  Quantity & Quality Control

Brightpoint India will check the following upon receipt of products:
i.  Goods received are the same as specified on purchase order and shipping documentation (quantities, weight, serials, etc.)
ii.  Inspect for visible signs of tampering or shipping/handling damages, and handling discrepancies or damaged goods.

6.  Shipment Discrepancy Handling

In-bound international shipments may have items missing as a result of theft, alternatively damages as because of handling. In these cases, Brightpoint India will assist in Handling the reports and the insurance claim with proper documentation. Management of discrepancies for inbound shipments, including reporting and reconciliation will be handled to give clients full visibility and information required to avoid future occurrences.

7.  System Entry & Reporting

Brightpoint India will update its records promptly after receipt of goods, thus allowing full visibility on goods received as early as entry system(s) is possible. Specific inbound entry reporting can be provided that could include inbound shipment tracking document management – airway bills, packing lists, etc, receipt and quantity checks, initial arrival checks and quality controls.
